Display screen for Spectrum XLT

I need an information about a screen for Spectrum XLT.

Mine has broken down and I need to replace it.
Could you, please, recommend me an e-shop where I can find one?

Hi,
I had to change mine,too.Lost 2 months to learn the things.My XLT was produced 1995 and there was not original display.Even found the producer in China.No help.
Than i bought LCD 128 x 64 graphic display.The pinout was not the same,but it was easy to connect it,according with the pin schema.
the worst came when the display showed NOTHING.Actually there was picture,but almost invisible.the thing was that the contrast was not set.I learned how to do that and now the XLT is working.Except the height of the new display,which is bigger for 5-6 mm.

I bought mine in 1994. The screen is original. I called the White's service here in Greece and they told me we have to replace these screens every 5 years!!!
I don't believe that..
I keep searching for about one month now... Nothing

the thing with my screen is that it was "almost" working (I couldn't read clear all the lines at first and now only the green light is on with no character...).

Do u thing I must check the contrast too??

And where did you buy your new one? I mean, is it a screen for metal detectors but not a White's spare part, or it is just a simple screen that you've managed in some way to connect?

Hi,
So,I,m not far away from You.I,m in Skopje.
First I looked everywhere, even in thessaloniki.No sucess.
Was in touch w London service.they said to send the unit e.t.c.too expencive.
Finally,I found the part here in Skopje.It is about 20 Euros,size little smaller,but few mm higher, blue background w white letters.Super.
the contrast on the existing unit is already set.But,on the new needs a resistor between leg 3 and 18 ( i think,has to check).Than the light comes on and looks like colour TV.Nice.

Do you think you could help me by sending me a screen like the one you bought???

I found nothing here in Greece...
And the fact that I don't know a lot about electronics, doesn't help me to order one online myself.

Please let me know if I can count on that..
