  • Silverdog Surf PI Longboard, pulsating / throbbing of threshhold, how to fix?

    Hello All,

I've built the Silverdog Surf PI longboard and am quite happy with the results, BUT ....

The threshhold comes and goes at a frequency of roughly 1 Hz. Of course I can turn down the threshhold
to not hear the false signal anymore, but it takes away depth.

I've searched the forum as good as I can and have not found much about this situation.

Has anyone else had this problem or have an idea of how to remedy this?

    Thanks & happy tinkering

      Solution found!

Thank you Eric, your post made me aware of the situation and just how much RF noise there is, especially nowadays.
Yes, changing the Tx frequency nearly completely eliminates this warbling problem in my case.

Here's the link to Eric's post which put me on the right track:

Just for interest what TX frequency did you use to fix your problem ?

Should I say it's a secret? Perhaps patentable. Or just kidding.

I don't know is the true answer.

As far as I understand this the absolute frequency does not matter.

I think in another post from Eric he says that varying the frequency of Tx plusminus 10%
is usually enough to solve this problem.

I can hear the normal audible frequency change as I slowly turn the pot and also hear the beat frequency getting
slower and slower or faster and faster until it's not bothering me anymore.

          Hope this helps.
