  • LORENZ 1meterX1meter coil

    Here is the connection for the LORENZ 1 meter coil
    Hope it is explicite
    It is two turns of a 4X22 cable * 2 aluminium foil and 2 Gnd
    give us a total of 8 turns
    Resistance = 2 R
    Inductance= 1000uH
    The Gnd cable is connected to the first cable BUT with no loop

    I have reproduced with success this coil with a
    4 X 22 cable with 1 alu foil and 1 gnd cable

    Check the inscription on the cable. On my cable is: BELDEN M 8723 CH 2PR22 SCHIELDED (UL) 5108998 (UL) 1203. Inductance 1x1m (really 1.1x1.1m) frame is 300uH and resistance 2.2ohm. This is the more probable value.

      According to Miranda on the inductance (approximately 300 mH)!
      For Delta Pulse, coil 1X1 mts. 17 laps, alrrededor of 1000 mH

        Hello forum
        Mrand , i confirm 100% the inductance is 1093 uH ... and R= 2 Ohms....my inductance meter is very accurate and when i have doubts, i recheck it with a good value reference choke ...

        I understand the trouble of people that why this high value with 8 turns??? (for exemple my 1meter X1meter coil home made with 9 turns of single cable Awg 22 is 545 uH)....
        BECAUSE the high value inductance of the Lorenz coil is due to the cable with foil and gnd drain
        this is exactly the belden cable you say

        Only for the serious .... make your own coil like Papa Alex say..... and you will have reproduced the correct Lorenz coil.....
        For the skeptical, buy your one frame coil from kelly... at $439,95 Dlls

          in your room? think, may be you are misleaded doing the measure in electric power AC conditions... go out at CLEAR air, in THE field.

          do now!

            Hi.
            I checked a square coil of a Lorenz deepmax 3 before some months and it has the same cable with you. The coil that i saw was the Belden-M 8723 cm 2PR22 E108998c (UL) 1904 1802 E-80 2713428 . The resistance was 2.2R but the inductance was a bit more.... (about 380uH).

              There does seem to be something wrong with your inductance measurement.
              For a 1m x 1m square coil, the circumference is 4m. If we shape this into a circle then the radius would be 636.6mm. According to the coil calculator:
              8 turns gives 346 uH, which is close to the expected value.
              14 turns gives 1015 uH.
              Although there will be a difference between the square and circle shapes, there will certainly not be an increase in inductance, let alone an increase of around 3X.

                    For the measurement it is make in my garden the coil vertically oriented away from metallic object , and like i say i double check my inductance meter with a good accuracy inductor...
                    In some day i will make some photos to upload for the forum,ok

                        no no no...

                        the boy is a son of Pavel aka Pashtet. thinking you know him by his PI detector 'Stalker'.

                          good day, Alexismex, did not know if ask you here or in the Mexico Forum. On this occasion I decided on this. I need to produce a coil for deepers 8AT having more power of penetration which brings 40 x 20 cm. At least double range in depth. Perhaps, a circular of approximately 60 cm in diameter is the recommended?. What cable or wire need (caliber) and what I can be better, one coaxial or enamel cable.? How do many laps in each case?. Do the coil takes only 2 wires or connections?. Help me please. Thanks a lot. Can you illustrate with drawings or diagrams?

                            It turned out to be pretty easy to make a coil for Lorenz. I was able to convert one of my self-made White's TDI coils and it works fine on the Lorenz. The original 1mx1m coil is 285uH. My coil coil is 315uH. This saved me 300 Euros for a new 45cm coil!

                              thank for the schematic.
                              Can you tell a source to buy this cable or the codename i'll search for.
                              A shop from european union would be ideal.
                              Did i'll have better performance with this cable compared to original frame; Because i am an owner of that machine and frame and i want to improve it.
                              Thank you in advance.
