  • Silverdog Surf PI 1.2 kit assembled

I have a few FULLY ASSEMBLED Silverdog Surf PI v1.2 boards. I built two of these for my kids and was impressed with the performance so I decided a build a few extra. I have adjusted the Offset setting and the DELAY settings. I would suggest tweaking the Delay setting to your preferences.

    I will be including:
    1) Silverdog v1.2 Surf PI circuit board assembled with all components
    2) 8 AA battery pack with power male/female power plug
    3) 8" coil which measures approximately 300 mH
    4) 1/8" Stereo headphone jack

No soldering required. All the potentiometers, power switch, headphone jack, and coil are wired.

I presume you meant to say 300 uH.

And, you might want to give a price for potential buyers.

I left out the decimal, .300 mH as it says on my inductance meter. This coil actually actually measured .306mH or 306 uH

          hello gw1964

respect to your work and the time you spend but i would vote for under 100$

it is a diy project featured by some users and much spare time

i think its not good if you try to commercialize this

a fair price is the kit price you pay plus 10$ for every hobbyhour you spent

          best regards

i think trying to commercalise any of the projects here is bad form, the whole point of these kits is for hobbyist evaluation only,
these may be older designs but they are someones intellectual property.
currently on another forum a user there has taken ivconic and eduardo's work on the tsgl, rearranged the board incorperated the two tone mod, and as i understand it plans to "commercalise" that detector, does he really think tesoro/laser will allow that?.
these projects were never posted for commecial gain, and doing so could result in the ip at the very least, being removed by request of the owner of that ip.
just because its old does not make it fair game, if you want to sell detectors design your own.
            just my 2 cents.

I am not trying to "commercialize" this board. I am merely selling my labor to assemble this board for the folks who don't know how to solder. I have over 40 years experience building electronic kits and this is who I am building this for. When anyone objects to my labor rate I graciously point them to Silverdog's web site and encourage them to build it them self. I could flip burgers for $10/hr, my skills are worth much more than that.

if they dont know how to solder/assemble/setup the device how can they evaluate it properly?

what you must understand is, there are detectorists out there with no electronic know how, who see people like you and me as a way to get a cheap surf pi or barracuda or whatever, but thats not the reason they are sold.
i myself received requests to build barracudas for people on a uk site after i built my barracuda, i refused and told them to buy a real one, or build it themselves.
i now no longer display my projects publicly, and only discuss them here and on Thunting.
