  • wanted to buy: PI pcb fully assembled

    Hi,
Want to buy a PI pcb fully assembled due to my lack of skill/experience to solder electronic components,
    Surf PI
    Hammerhead
    Baracuda Legend
    or similar.
Not intended for nuggets but for coins and small jewellery.
Coil to be used has 24cm diameter and 1,9 Ohms impedance.
    Thanks in advance

      Hi,
Do you make this pcb ??
I have not heared of it and I do not have the skill nor the equipment to eliminate any design flaws so I thought I may stick to a unit with a proven track record even if that can/will result in a little bit less detection depth.
I will rather be honest about my capabilities rather than pester the seller to death with questions as to why I can´t get the unit to work.
But I thank you for the link - I will ask more knowledgeable people than myself if this unit can be made to work with the skills of an amateur (meaning myself)
      greetings

Hello sinko1, somewhere you mentioned that you have Vandal Pulse 3 as improved version of Vandal Pulse 2, but I cannot find it on your web site. You abandoned this version?

Surf PI - no discrimination, conventional schematic for diving use
            Hammerhead - no disc
Baracuda Legend - no disc, conventional schematic for diving use
Vandal Pulse - no disc, no schematic, no info

            your choice?

                    Hi,
                    No need to squabble, guys.
I asked for a fully assembled board due to my lack of electronic skills.
Must be lots of people here who can use the cash to finance their next stage of project development.
Making coil, enclosure and shaft myself is no problem - that´s mechanical work.
I was actually looking to buy a PI made in Canada but shipping cost of 138$US on top of purchase price is prohibitive.
To boot, the shipping cost is an added value to the product so I have to pay import duty on that as well.
So I figure to buy a board made within the EU since I live in Germany.
Thanks again for the links and offers
                    Keep calm

                      Add to last post

I look at it this way.
There are many people building hot rods / custom cars that do not build their own transmissions.
Instead they go to someone who is an expert in that field and buy from them.
They actually do not care HOW the transmission works - they just want it to work.
This is the way I look at the board for my PI
I have no use for schematics because I don´t understand the electronic engineering behind it.
All I care about it is that it functions, because I actually do go out and use my detectors to go detecting.
As for discrimination - I have many good VLF detectors that have discrimination so this feature is not of the utmost importance on my PI
                      Thought I might add that.
                      Greetings

yes postage from usa and canada is prohibitive to uk/eu, lots of kits i would like but no way i'm paying for excessive shipping.
sometimes the postage is 4 times the purchase price, and they wonder why their small business world trade is down.

This is very true sinclairuser. But shipping cost from USA to EU, for detector of the same weight and volume, can vary from $49,20 (my last buy) to over $300 in some cases (not decided to buy). Seems shipping costs are highly depended on seller policy (some of those do not want to bother with export procedure and avoid this by high shipping cost).

@ skookum: both offer (KT315 for Hammerhead and sinko1 for Vandal 2) are form EU, so no import charges for you in Germany. And shipping costs, I think, are cheap or even free.
