Hi All and in particular KT315

I am looking for at good start to do some metal detectoring ....
And then I find your Baracuda project. Seems very interesting.

But I have some assumptions and questions.

1) It seems as you are "only" selling the PCB and then I have to buy the electronic parts my self. Is that right?
2) Besides from following the instructions in every detail - do I then need other equipment besides from at multimeter. I have multimeter, but dont have an osciloscope (hope the spelling is OK)
3) What is the diffence between the Baracuda and the Surf PI. I will typically hunt on beaches and in side country in scandinavia. Can you recommend one before the other ?

4) I cant see anyway I can order and pay for the Baracuda in this version. I am not allowed to send you a PM - I dont have acces. So - how do I order and how do I pay :-))

Just finished the Barracuda. You can get it up and running with just a DVM. Not Optimal but Vary Well. I sourced my parts from Tayda Electronic. Tayda did not stock the LT1054 some suggest, I used the ICL7660 as in BOM is working fine. I'm using a 11.1 LiIon Battery setup. I purchase parts to build two and it came up to about $25.00. Parts from China took about 10 days to the USA. Not bad I think.

Still using the Barracuda to check various coils. Easy to damp coils with my DSO138 $20.00 scope. Without a scope if you just go with the BOM resistor you will be fine to most parts.

Surf / Barracuda I have Both. The Surf just bangs together really not much to it. Set the Zero Volts and Play with the Delay until it see's a gold ring. I like the VCO the Barracuda has.

My hearing's not so good any more.

i can put some pats, but i do not sell kit. i buy some components at ebay too, from chineses, if i need.
you maybe know my country is not manufacturing of electronics. it is so tiny that you do not find it on a map.
all that selling here are running from Sweden warehouses and will be expensive.

if you do all right you do not need o-scope. check all components besides chips before soldering and will get working
board. no specific tuning, set zero volts on opamp without mosfet. its all.

no specific difference. almost one circuit. i did bara to grasp why people have so much problem on silverdog's board.
i did sure full copy, but i am certainly optimizing some lines. also all lines are doubled on both sides for safety of pads
in process of soldering (ups guys! use the power soldering station or power control). George is helping too... :-)

if do it. also i will not correct the board layout just cause i did not sell yet all batch in this year.

i replaced my switch to a pushbutton at the boards which are made with your layout (REV-B Barracuda).
Im not sure about the funktion of this pushbutton.
Can you explain what it does?
Someone told me that it is possible to be a reset for something.

in my opinion this is not reset. this is for sure tuning of THRESHOLD pot that later was deleted.

depth is super but my board is not Geotech (George's board). seems you need to ask/buy from Silver Dog.
