Barracuda boards for sale

I bought several PCB of Silver Dog, I want to know which is the best between your PCB and Geotech Baracuda (Rev-A) ?

As at the time i have only the KT315 board i cant answer you. However now i have both boards populated and running, so i can share my opinion. Off cause it will be unbiased as neither Silverdog, neither KT315 pay to me percentage of the sales;-)))). Aditionally if any of the moderators find this article unacceptable please delete it.

1. Both Silverdog and KT315 are responsible guys and send the items ASAP (after receiving the payment off cause). The main difference is at which side of the globe you are. So places like mine(middle east) - delivery is too expensive so i order both boards to Bulgaria and they arrive for around a week from GB and Lituania.
2. Both of them are sending the item as described, so both boards come in perfect quality without damage and well packed.
3. Here we start the main comparision:

Size - Silverdog - 97x67mm
KT315 - 87x57mm
Colour - both red;
Silkscreeen both have;
Resistors mounting - Silverdog - horizontal;
KT315 - 98 percent vertical;
Ground shield - Silverdog - yes;
KT315 -none;
Capacitors pitch tolerance - Silverdog - none;
KT315 - yes(you can fit larger pitch capacitors);
Schematics followed - Silverdog - Geotech Baracuda rev-A ;
KT315 - Baracuda legend;

As a conclusion both the boards if assembled with the proper component values start working from the first attempt without even setting. For maximum dept off cause both need adjusting of the offset as well as the damping resistor(DM and/or osciloscope are must).

So as we say in Bulgaria there are passengers for every train;-). If you need the smallest size go for KT315. If you need detailed explanation of the construction go for Silverdog.
Sayng that both the price with the delivery to Europe was almost the same.

thank you for deep details analysis, report, NK. to your list - my board has all traces doubled on both sides. that is rising reliability on break up of pads soldering-desoldering.
i also optimized power traces. i left reference designators on schematic sure to original board, that gives more best perception and no mess.
i also give a way of easely to do George's mod if you want to search it. after selling of whole batch the gerber files will be open for everybody.
then everybody can sell them on ebay free without limits.

You welcome, and thanks for the clarification. I was almost sure about as i read it somewhere in your posts(at the Delta Pulse board these improvements are more than obvious). Meantime i confirm one more observation. Once you build more than one board of the same detector or several different one, you realize that your coil is crap:-))). Initially i tend to blame my self for the lack of osciloscope, improper adjustments etc, when at the end it come that the main suspect for the poor performance is the bad coil. So before to start populating the IDX and Delta Pulse i think i should improve my skills and knowledge for coil building.

I really like the Layout of the Geotech version. Mostly due to the ease of Trouble shooting and or Repair ability aspect. They just look so tidy and neat. The KT135 board has it's advantages to be sure and that's the one I have.
