  • Wanted Please. Decant PI board to replace the One in This enclosure.

    Hi guys.

i was wondering if anyone has a decent pi board that allready has its electronics components on for sale. i want to replace it with the Sniffer XR-71 DELTA PULSE board that i have in the enclosure showing.
i bought the Sniffer XR-71 DELTA PULSE board from off a seller from italy on ebay last year. the board has never worked properly. two of the settings don't seem to do any thing. the detecting depth is very poor. no matter what you do with the setting. 10" detecting depth on a pop can is as good as it gets.

    thanks in advance guys.

The SNiffer is a decent detector. Maybe you just have a coil and or Damping issue.

      Hi homefire.

i tested it with 3 diferent coils. all gave the same results. (i said italy for the ebay seller.) i meant to say from Turkey. there was a couple of guys on this forum who also bought the same board from the same seller in turkey and they had the exact same problems as well. Link to the thread bellow....

Why don't you go threw it part by part and find out what's not happening ?

when i bought the board it was already made up with all of it's components etc fitted to the board. all that was needed to do was fit a speaker, battery and coil and you were meant to be ready to go. as i said there was a couple of guys on this forum who also bought the same board from the same seller in turkey and they had the exact same problems as i was getting.
since i am not an electronics expert. trying to work out what it's faults are, well that isn't going to happen. i did contact the seller a few times about it but they were no help at all. they did emailed me a schematics for the board, but that didn't even match the board i had. it had 7 potentiometers fitted on schematics but my board only had 6 potentiometers fitted.
not that the schematics would of been of any good to me any ways. even if it was the right one to go with it.

i bet that sniffer has fake ic's on the board, there were some turkish pre built and kits that had crap components, nothing wrong with the boards per-se but the ic chips were fake, removing them and replacing with correct ones fixes the boards(as well as any other sniffer lol).
it looks like your board has sockets so no soldering needed, just identify each chip and replace, silverdogs shop is reliable get what chips you can there then source the others, even bought from digikey or mouser it would not cost much to replace the chips.
as an aside where did you get your parkside soldering iron, been looking for one of those to replace my back up iron.

opamp tester boards' batch had ordered in 20pcs. that i think will cover all needs of people in testing of all kind of opamps.

Hello keith777. I had problems with chips, diodes and transistors 546 and 557. some of them were fake. From 10 pieces LF357, ordered from China, worked 4 pieces. Assembled by me, the Turkish scheme does not like coils with low inductance.

To check the performance of the Board requires an oscilloscope, a multimeter with a frequency meter.

The DSO 138 oscilloscope from China is very cheap.

Just change all chips on the PCB. These are garden variety IC's. Altogether will be very cheap. You can find them everywhere. Even salvage from other old PCB. Then retouch soldering joints throughout the board where they look suspect, with soldering iron to make sure components properly soldered. Then check the transistors. Easy to test them in circuit without desoldering. This is easy fix. Or send board to me.

In your case, replacing chips is easy, just remove them from sockets. No problem.
