My suggestion, to flash the file on the PIC, is to do this only on completed pcb. That means completed, with all soldered components. If you made it on unfinished pcb, you will have some errors in the menu. I had to learn about it as well, so I do it only in this way.

Again I made video, to show Fortuna on a not suggested coil, this time I used my concentric 25 cm for IDX. The problem was, that both capacitors are inside the coil. So I decided to add 1uF in series for TX. The result is not bad, but I need to test it still in real soil, maybe next weekend.

Make a video of deep targets

I never made any deep test for targets. Because every soil is different in mineralisation and humidity, so you will always have another result in the distance, for the same target.
Also it's a difference, if you put a target in the soil and you know, that the target is present in flat orientation, or you have an unknown target, in unknown orientation, wich is there already for hundreds of years.
There are many deep tests on russian youtube videos with this detector, you can watch. Maybe you will get the answer you need.
Most important test in my opinion, is to test the stability and the ability in rejection the ground effect, on real soil of any detector.

Fortune Pro2 is advanced model of M2/M3, but pcb and flashed controller, you have to buy from the author. In basically they all are similar, Pro2 has an FM transmitter too.

How is the performance of M2/ M3 regarding these aspects?
What is your opinion on it's recovery speed?

On my soil with less mineralisation, M2/M3 is working very good in aspects of stability, ground rejection and also you can take a choice, between normal and fast recovery speed, depending on your setup.
