  • Nautilus DMC II-BA

The Nautilus DMC II-BA has been of duty for a while since it was not working properly and I got myself other toys. The machine has been modifified like separate sensitivity adjustment for each channel. As far as i remember the all metall channel works but the discriminator channel not.

So sort of for spares and repair only.

The coil is fine. It is the 8" version.

    Price? Make an offer.

I am in Germany. The cheapest shipping would be 16€ / 18.50 USD but without tracking. With tracking 37€ /43 USD

She is beautiful machine. Can you post pictures of the PCB front and back, and also some pics of internal wiring. I would be interested in making offer, but need to be sure I could get it working right, since not sure about modifications that have been made. Can you say who modified the unit?

I've tinkered with it myself long ago. First mod: The sensitivity pots have been desoldered and connected to extermeal pots with the same value. Second mod: 2 pots have been added to adjust each audio channel. The machine worked fine after the modifications but after a while without any outer influence the disc channel didn't work properly anymore. I suspected that the external pot was the reason but resoldering the original pot didn't fix the issue. Since I got myself other detectors I lost interest to attempt to trace issue and the Nautilus collected dust.
I don't want to spend much time on it now and making pcb pictures back and front would require that I take the thing further apart.
I want to sell it for a rather symbolic price as is to help finance other projects.

Now i found also the lower stem and it would be included in the deal.Click image for larger version

Thanks for the pics. In it's present condition, and the fact that it has to be repaired. If you hadn't destroyed the box with your mods, the value would have been much, much higher for a working unit.

Now having said that, you must realize that this forum is full of people who are metal detector engineering junkies. What is of special interest is the "automatic balance" circuit of the DMC2a. That's the smaller daughter board in the box.
You are in unique position to provide pictures of PCB front and back of the smaller pcb.
Nobody else can do this. The engineering gurus here on forum can then reverse engineer this unique circuit.
It just takes a little effort on your part.
I am sure that someone will make you an offer.

If shipping cost to Trinidad and Tobago from Germany is viable, then I will make you an offer. Will p.m you.

Trinidad and Tobago? DHL makes it happen!

I found out that the international shipping for a registered parcel is 16 +4(for registering) = 20EURO ~ 23.50 USD to the US and to Trinidad and Tobago.
