  • Scopes for sale

I recently bought a batch of test equipment from the local university:

Included were 11 oscopes (the Tek 2235 is not in the photo), and I figured I could get one or two working, to use for spares. As it turns out, every last one of 'em works just fine! I don't really need 12 scopes (just got a Tek TDS640), so I plan to post the extras on ebay. But I thought I would offer them here first. I have (4) BK Precision 1479B 30MHz scopes, (4) Hitachi V-302F 30MHz scopes, an HP something-r-other, a Sencore SC61, and a Tek 2235 100MHz scope.

One of the BK's is a bit grungy looking, I think it must've been stuck in a corner somewhere collecting dust. I am cleaning this one up, and keeping it as a "basement scope". I am also keeping the Tek 2235 for my main bench. I'll sell all the others, starting with the BK's, which are in REALLY nice condition, bright traces, and very clean. They are somewhat older scopes (20-25 yrs, I'd guess), they are 30MHz; dual channel; 5mv-5v /div; trigger a/b/ext; a+b, a-b, a*b. A very standard analog scope.

    Inside view, spotless

Probing the flyback on Hammerhead. 20v/div (10x probe).

Each BK scope is $75, plus shipping (20 lbs from 27310). I do not have scope probes. These are available as cheap as $18 each, new. I do not have manuals. If you know anything at all about using a scope, you won't need a manual. If you don't, then I will gladly help you out. Each BK has a permanent power cord.

If you look on ebay, you can occasionally find these same scopes as cheap as $25 or so. But they are mostly sold as-is, with no warranty, and no returns. These are not as-is, but are guaranteed to be fully tested, and fully working. I am testing each and every function on every scope. If you find any problem, I will give a complete refund, including shipping. If you just don't like the scope, then I will refund the $75, but not shipping.

Although these scopes are in very nice condition, they are not mint. They do show some usage, a few nicks and scratches, but very little wear. I have noticed that the 5x timebase switch doesn't always make good contact, probably from lack of use. But a few clicks back and forth, and it's fine. The scopes are not calibrated, and I am not doing so, but they all appear to be in good shape in this department.

I will offer the Hitachi's as soon as I can check them out. They are not quite as "clean" as the BK's, but are still in great shape. All the same functionality.

    Regards,
    Carl

    Re: Scopes for sale

    Carl,

What are the other pieces of test equipment, other than the scopes, that might be for sale?

        Re: Scopes for sale

Mostly signal generators. A BK sweep gen that works fine, & I'm keeping, plus several Waveteks, models 19, 190, and 191. Most of these work, sorta, but they have 60Hz jitter on the waveform (supply cap going bad?). Plus the output attentuator resistors are all cooked, usually indicative of some neophyte back-driving DC into the output. I expect they will be easy to fix, and probably I will sell them.

I have a few, but they need to be checked over. If you're interested, I'll try to pull one this weekend and go through it.

I have a few, just haven't had time to check them over. Been a busy summer, and I still have more travel coming up. So, I expect another few weeks before I can get to this.
