Will pay cash or trade a late model detector for Technetics S/T. Will even consider a non-working unit if it has NO battery leak damage to circuit boards.
Got one, email me.
Thanks,
Ty
Hi! Good luck on finding one! I had one in the late 80's. Most had a problem with the batteries and water leakage. I sent mine in for repair and lost it when Teknetics went Bankrupt. A company official said that most of the repair units were tossed in the trash. Every one that I knew that had one had this battery and or leakage problem. Now when it worked it found an amazing amount of stuff!!! But after all the headaches with this unit I'll probably advise against getting one. FYI Joe
Joe,
Been a detector dealer since 1966. Am aware of leaks and battery leaks. I want one mostly for the housing if the price is right. I have other water detectors. I want a very light weight detector for another purpose.
Most interesting S/T I've seen is one that had the case split in half, mounted on headphones and used for wading. No chance of leaks since the coil cable had been replaced with a longer cable. Of course, falling or dropping headphones while in the water, could have caused a major problem.
The "papa" of that modification was the same guy who came up with the "180 original meter modification for the Sovereign" and I'm sure that was around '92 or '93...
Thanks for the reply,
Ty
