  • WTB: Gold Mountain King Cobra 8" Coil

I love this old machine and she's a very good detector that gets hits even when others won't. Had gone head to head with Garrett Ace 150 and Bounty Hunter Pilot and she found coins that didn't even register with them. I chipped one of the tabs on a rock and have been searching High and low for a replacement, even with Keith Wills in East Texas (great guy) all he has are the 4" coils for the King Cobra. Anyone who knows of one that someone is no longer using a King Cobra coil or of a good working substitute Coil, please let me know. Thank you.

I have repaired the one I have, and am looking for a spare. Please, don't try to overcharge me for one, I am willing to go up to $50.00 that includes shipping. I am not in a hurry and winter is coming..... Thank you again!!!

I think the King Cobra circuit is similar to the Tesoro Royal Sabre. If so, then perhaps a standard 5-pin Tesoro coil would work, although you might have to change the in-socket. Is there any chance you could measure the inductance of the coils?

      Thanks

Thank you for your quick response! I have been Metal Detecting for ten years and I am just not that tech savvy with these machines. I can build computers and troubleshoot software, and I am a great Help Desk Technician, but I am not a very technical person when it comes to other electronics. Thank you again for your response!!! Steve
