I had the Original 2001 superphones sold awhile back but found a short in the cord
so I had to do something about it before I could sell them again... I couldn't find a replacement
cord so I decided to rebuild the 2001 superphones out of a "Brand New" set of Howard leight muffs
I had laying around, these are the same muffs the Original Rats were made from. I wired them to work on my Minelab and they ARE VERY LOUD!!! So if your hard of hearing, these would help you as the superphones have an Audio Amplifier built with in that can be switched on and off by pulling OR pushing in the right side volume adjustment POT.. They used to be powered by a 1.5 volt button cell battery but when I modified them I switched themover to a 1.5 volt AA battery that is located in the left ear cup, shouldn't have to replace for quite sometime.........I have enclosed photos of the before and after conversion for you to see........
