  • ADC in figs 12-13 & 12-14

    Hi
could I ask what I hope is a not a too silly question
I have been looking at the Pic PI schematics , figs 12-13 & 12-14
    these have a ADC function.

What I am interested in is using the ADC function as a stand alone function only, and use it as a back end for another design front end.

Could you program the chip and build the pic circuit (R23 etc)
and only use the ADC function of the pic chip ? but not the internal TX or sample pulses from the Pic,

but useing completely separate TX and sample pulses etc , to generate the signal that goes into the ADC,

Or is the ADC somehow synced to the TX pulse or timing generated by the Pic, and you must use them and this idea would not work ?
    Thanks for your time

This would be easy. In the PI projects, the ADC is synced internally to the timing, but you could easily fire it instead with an external trigger applied to the INT pin (RA2).

      Hi Carl
      thanks for reply,
I have had a look at the RA2 pin, which seems to be pin 5
but if the Pic is loaded with the hex file from either the PI3 or PI4 project (for ADC function)
pin 5 has the audio out going to a speaker.

      Cheers
