its been mentioned before, but get 1st edition anyway since the 2nd will be a continuation not a reprint with added bits, thats how i understand it.
of course only Carl and George know for sure, ITMD is a must have book for any detector tinkerers no matter what level they operate at.
in fact ordinary detectorists should read it too, then a few misconceptions about detectors could be finally put to bed.
The 2nd edition is almost ready, one more minor round of edits. Can't do it this week, but next week I'm back in El Paso which is where I get my writing done. Then it's ready for Amazon. There is no new material, just lots of corrections and the removal of the LRL stuff. This trims the book by 50 pages or so, and the price drops to $29.
Those who want the 1st edition should contact White's or Kellyco. Some local dealers may also have a copy.
Whilst discussion on LRL belongs on "the other web site" (which I now know exists. Not my scene), I found that chapter most interesting reading. Some light relief from the technical stuff. I do remember initial surprise at its inclusion though.
I was a little disillusioned actually. I thought there must be something in water divining, its been so widely used

Carl, please announce here when 2nd edition will be out on sale.
Thank you. Is this a print on demand book from Amazon?
Yes - it's being published by CreateSpace, which is part of the Amazon group of companies.
Although stuffing books into jiffy bags was a novelty at first, the initial excitement has faded somewhat over the last couple of years. Hence we've decided to let Amazon do the work of distribution. This will make it easier for customers to order the book in their own country, and help to reduce shipping costs.
thanks george and carl for clarification(and for proving me wrong again!).
i remembered a discussion in another thread where ITMD part2 was mentioned and mixed it up, is there a chance of a counterpart volume with some more advanced projects?.
it could have a mag project, more advanced theory, and a dedicated two box project and chapter(more than a few have mentioned interest in this specific subject).
i know you are both very busy but if you dont ask you dont get.
thanks.

We've discussed writing a more advanced version of ITMD, including the projects you've mentioned. At the moment it's not got beyond the initial planning phase. As you said, we're both very busy, but one day [hopefully] the project will reach completion.
Regarding the book binding - anyone else have a book come apart even with only light handling? Mine has - about a third of my 1st edition books pages are loose and I have to keep the book in a bag to keep from loosing pages. Maybe I just got a bum book, or if others have had this issue maybe the publisher should know & correct before printing the 2nd edition...I'm not complaining though, love this book! - thx

If there is enough blank space on the binding side of each page, you may be able to have it rebound in a "lay flat" binding at a local copy shop that also does commercial printing. Or, they may be able to repair the existing binding.
