Question about fig 12-19

Hi I am interested in Fig 12-19 page 174, is there sufficient information in the block diagram to experiment with
or is it over simplified, if it is over simplified could it be expanded in any new book please ?

If it is worth experimenting with, are the integrators single ended and only two samples are shown should there really be four, two target/gb samples S1-S2 and two EFE samples S3-S4 ?
