I found the information under "Coil Sensitivity" on page #247 of Inside the METAL DETECTOR , by co-authors Overton and Moreland, thought provoking !
With reference to the 2nd paragraph and the sentence including "Although using a larger diameter coil.....the sensitivity is also reduced......", I'm wondering if increasing the frequency of a larger diameter search coil would help ameliorate reduced sensitivity.
I'm well aware that the laws of physics dictate that an improvement in one aspect of an electronic circuit often causes a loss in another; however I'm not versed enough in metal detector electronics to arrive at a conclusion.
Thanks in advance for your reply.
