  • Richard Byrd Ray, Treasure Hunter SUPREME

This is on Richard Byrd Ray, a die hard SUCCESSFUL treasure hunter, who was even more successful then others... At first, he posted, I saw his post in one forum, so emailed him, and we emailed back and forth, and suddenly, he was overwhelmed by emails, so I dropped out as he had a stroke, and I did not want to be one of them who helped destroy him. But at that time, I already had a large amount of his stories and his words in my computer, so I decided after he died, to write his story.

So here it is, HIS STORY, in MY STORY booklet.......I enhanced photo after photo and stuck them in, large and small sized, just as they were, except I enhanced them for my own booklet!

Now I never got to put each and every photo into it, my older computer just will not let me do that. I use Win XP and Win 7 computers, to write my own booklets. Yep, I know there are newer computers out there for sale, but you see, I own OLD SOFTWARE that I use to write and do my enhancing, and it DOES NOT run on newer computers..... So I am stuck with using OLDER COMPUTERS which can run my OLDER SOFTWARE!!!! I don't bend, and therefore I do not break....... Enjoy the story, that Richard told me, and that I used to write HIS STORY of what he did.....You will like it, as there is not much out there since Richard Byrd Ray died back in 2016... After you read it, let me know how you liked what he and I said about him...

Great! I post about the past, not interested in todays stuff. Things change, some changes are good, some are not good. I am old school which means I like the older things better then todays products. It does not mean todays things are bad, it is just that I am in love with the past products... Am I crazy? Heck that might be true too...

I seem to like the older detectors, cars, motorcycles, boats from years ago. They have much more character than products of today. And I still don't own a cellphone.

Sven, what you just posted, is "kinda like" you are telling what I am. I run three older vehicles, not into the smaller lighter newer vehicles though. I am not into motorcycles, had one, scared me a bit, I had taken it in trade on one of the houses I sold to a guy, and I decided to sell it too as I thought this can kill me as it is harder to see on the roads then a larger vehicles. I could drive it, but going fast kind of scared me. I like lots of strong metal around me when I go faster then riding a bicycle!

Not into boats even though I owned one years ago. I never learned to swim. I kick and kicked, never went forward, went backward. Legs must be on backwards I guess.

Now on metal detectors, am into older detectors. Yes, I agree they have much more character then the detectors of today. But that is just my thinking, like it is your thinking, as I do not own nor ever used a detector of today. I am old school you see. I can exist with those who like the modern detectors though as I learned to "not judge" what others like and do...

And cell phone? Wife owns one, I never owned one. I got two lines in the house, one for the house phone which I use, the other line is for my computer. So no use for a cell phone as the buttons are too small for my fingers. The wife is 12 years younger then me, so it works for her, but it does not work for me......So I let her phone websites that my house phone seems to balk on connections to them... She takes messages for me to from my doctor. When the scammers phone me, I pick up my police whistle and they hang up.They still phone, I still blow the whistle loud. Who will win? I know I will not give up. They eventually will lose their hearing and I hope give up bothering me.

But all of my kids, wife, and my friends, all use cell phones. I love everyone, and accept what they do without argument. Now I use my wife's internet access, as it sure as heck beats the heck out of AOL DIAL UP which I was raised on..... It is faster. But my computer still dials into her faster internet connection!!!!! And like I said, "It is sure faster ye then my old AOl dial up"!!!

Why do I stick to the older detectors? They find targets, and guys detecting nearby, noticed me digging and digging, so they came over, swung over my targets, said "Nothing there", then down I go and dig up a nice target. They go blank in the face, and want to know why my machine heard it and theirs did not. I say "I have no idea"! and I move right along swinging and swinging, and keep on ignoring them until they give up on me..... I do a lot of shrugging the shoulders sometimes... Why don't I explain? Because I do not know the answer you see. It might be my Audio Amplifer I use I guess, but again, I have no idea why theirs tells them "Nothing there" and mine says DIG IT UP!!!

But I still use AOL!!!!!!!!!! I just dial into her VERIZON internet which eclipes the speed of straight AOL access. I realized VERIZONE is faster then AOL. You see, she get it through the air, I get it through my second telephone line! I bent, but I still did not break... I figured BOTH of us can exist at the same time!!! So I stil USE AOL "and" VERIZONE, and she just uses VERIZONE!!! So the relationship still is intact!

Now she drives a brand new car, I drive one from 1989, we get about the same gas mileage though. But mine is roomy, hers is a bit cramped for me, but I do not complain as she is a great cook. And I like to eat... Like I said, "we both can exist at the same time, in the SAME HOUSE", and we still love each other... And we all can get along in this same forum, as we all are searching for BURIED TREASURE.... That is the compatibility factor!!!!!!!!!!!! Now if I get some arguments on this post, all I am going to do right here is begin my shrugging of my shoulders and I will not argue with anyone you see... I post, but I never argue with anyones thoughts! The Second Amendment gives us all the right to FREE SPEECH!

I am the same way Sven. I do not own a cell phone either. I dig all solid signals, just like Richard Byrd Ray did when he was alive and metal detected. So I find more good targets, and I find more bad targets. I do find more coins and jewelry they other users. I search with ALL METAL MODE, I do not use DISCRIMINATE mode. Discriminate mode is used to sell more metal detectors. Both good signals and both bad signals, come in the same resonate places I have noticed. That is why I use a GOOD/BAD apron around my waist area... Guys who follow me, want to know why I find more then they find. I do not discriminate you see, discrimation is rejecting both good and bad targets I noticed. Now I said Richard Ray DID NOT DISCRIMINATE... It is in his booklet about his life's story... Read his story, it is only 35 pages... And the photos? I enhanced them myself........I was a Printer's Devil for Bradford Robison Printing and Publishing Co back in 1954. The were a huge printing company, downtown Denver Colorado, right across the street from the main post office. I worked there for them. They taught me about printing books and booklets. I cleaned their huge printing presses...Right below, is the story about Richard, he told it, I wrote it, and it is free just to download. You cannot print it out, as it was his story, not my story you see. His kids will be or have printed and sold it theirselves....So it is free to read, not free to print out... It belonged to him, not to me you see, so I made it read only here. It is secured as it was his story even if he is deceased!
