My booklet on Compass Electronics..........

I am a Historian. I am also an Writer. I began back in 1954. I went to work for Bradford Robison Printing and Publishing Company. They hired me to melt their lead type for their old LETTER PRESSES... You see, they printed hard bound books. So I went to work for them, in their lead melting room. It was not inside their printing plant you see. It was outside the plant, as melting lead is kind of dangerous to people who breathe oxygen. Not going to explain that any further. I melted all their lead type, into lead pigs, for their Linotype machines you see. They liked me, liked the way I worked, did not have to stand over me telling me to do this and that. I was honest person, so they took me into their plant, and began to teach me the printing press business. Are they the ones who made me dangerous? Well, some of the ones anyway....

I was a dealer for Compass Electronics in the past, also a dealer for other metal detector manufacturing companies. So you see, I really became more and more dangerous.....I wrote a book about Compass, Ron Mack met me in person, liked me, told me I could print it out, sell it or give them away. So I did. I took the photos, took the printing material, since I was an Printers Devil, I enhanced them. What is enhancing? It means I made them much clearing to look at and to read. Is that what is inside my book? Yep! What is the cost of the book? It is FREE!!!! I put it int oa SECURED PDF FILE, and you cannot print it out, as it belongs to me. I did this back before 2013, and I printed out some copies myself. Later, since I owned the copyright, I put it into a secured PDF file. That way I do not have to print it into a hard cover copy. I can post it, and others can read it, and marvel at what I did for FREE!!!

Now is this the ony book you wrote? No, I wrote a hell of a lot more of other books. I knew other writers too. I roomed with the famous writer, Edward Paul Abbey back in 1961 This was when I was working for the U.S. Govt. They liked me as well. I lectured on Geology and History. I would tell them, do you have any historical books or historical maps on so and so or such and such??? They would ship me, free of charge, and they even paid the shipping charges, from their warehouses, rare folios on this and that area. They even sent me leather bound heavy books, all free of course.Did I sell them? Nope, still own them and have them......I am a tight wad you see...

So right below, is my large book, on Compass Electronics. NOT a booklet, a book. You can download it, and read it, but you cannot print it out. You see I still own it ALL BY MY SELF!!!!! But I let you read it....... Every photo in it, every sheet, is enhanced by this OLD TIME PRINTERS DEVIL....... I did it all myself, Wrote it, enhanced it, set the type, bound it, I was an ENTIRE print shop myself! And it is free to read!!!!!!!!!! Not to print though!!!!!!!! That is the DEVIL part you see...I own it, own it lock stock and barrel. I own the copyright too...

I said folios above, and now I will go more into specific details. They were federal government map folios, consisting of geologic story and geologic maps. Rare? You bet your sweet bippy they are rare. And large sized map folios too. Also sent to me, rare vintage leather bound, thick map and geologic storys rare bound old leather covered books, from the good old days, they had them stored in the warehouses in a federal government building. I took photos of one of the shipments from them to myself, there were 13 rare map folios, and several vintage leather bound books on two cardboard shipment boxes, and going to stick it into this posting, so you can see something like what they have stored in federal buildings and can send to a person who stodied geology and worked for the federal government in the past. So would they might have an old rare thing like one movie called the Raiders of the Lost ARK? I don't know, but from what I got, it might be possible!!!

Now most, not all, of the rare old BRAND NEW CONDITION, geological map folios, were from a request for what do you have on Colorado. So I stuck in some of the maps for other states in this .PDF file, to show I have more then just Colorado folios, but have maps for other states as well... Why do I post this? So you know when I say something, I am not lying to you. California??? I am loaded with California material as well...Nebraska? Loaded!!! Other states? Loaded! Related to metal detecting??? Well, it tells the stories about areas, and one wants to know where to look! National Parks??? It is illegal to use a metal detector in National Parks! National Forests??? Can use them in some of the forest, but cannot remove the material, unless one is looking for placer gold deposits. One can get a permit and dig and remove with a permit! But cannot get a permit in National Parks. National Parks are different from National Forests you see!!!!!! I worked in the National Park Service, but never worked in the National Forest areas...I metal detected for placer gold nuggets in National Forest areas. Ask the Forest Rangers first, if you can metal detect, and the rules and regulations, before you pull it out of your automobile trunk! Some you can use them in the forests, some places you cannot use them.
