In Southern Colorado, southeast of Pueblo Colorado, there is a historic old FORT, located along the Arkansas River area, came from the eastern part of Nebraska, traveling west along the Santa Fe Trail, the travelers came upon Bent's Fort, which was built to protect the travelers along that trail. William Bent, lived there, decided to build his home there, was acquainted with the Indians, married an indian squaw himself, had some children with her. I got the photo one of William Bents sons, who was George Bent, but William was the main Bent in the story of Bent's Fort you see. I am an historian you see, so anything you see I make it better and clearer to look upon... William Bent, he had a campground, with the Cheyenne Indians camping near his house/fort campground area. He traded with the indians you see. The soldiers were there as well, at Bent's Fort. The fort did not belong to William Bent, just was named after him. This story is about the Bents and people associated with William Bent. Not about the actual fort itself, which was run primarily owned by William Bent and associated by the military.. The next photo is of the Cheyenne Indian camp, showing all of the Teepees in the photo, some of the Cheyenne indians, and a view on how they lived near William Bents location... William had lots of kids, and George was one of his kids...

The next photo above to the right of George Bent, George is one of William Bents sons, the second photo is of Black Beaver, an scout for the U.S. Calvary, and a friend of William Bents, and an actual Cheyenne indian back then, and how he dressed and how also Williams son George dressed... But William Bent was the main Bent in the story, and he was also killed by the indians as well. Its in the last story of Bents Fort in a .pdf format...

This drawing above, shows Bent's Fort layout, near the east side of the Arkansas River, and what is in it. It is called Bent's Fort, but it actually contains the living quarters, kitchen, warehouse's area, and Bent's Store location. The area is secured by the soldiers, and William Bent has his store in it. William lives there with his wife. The two Bastions are guard towers to protect and permit the soldiers to view all directions around the fort itself.

The above photo, is a photo of the famous man called KIT CARSON. He was a trapper and lived in that area too. He was known to all of them, from all of the Bents, the Soldiers, the Indians, and the civilian people who lived in the area with the Bents, the indians, and the scouts as well. I will not go too much about all of these people, but I got a FULL STORY in a .PDF file on the story of Bent's Fort. You can download and read the story yourself... Here is the story: Since I provided it, never wrote it myself, but enhanced it, I have a copyright on it, it is a story you can read, but you cannot print it out on paper. Kit Carson was more famous then the Bents, and was both connected with all of the Indians in the story of Bent's Fort! George Bent was just a son of Williams Bent's and I do not have the photos of William or the other Bents or a photo of the fort itself, but I put in what I have in my story... The last BentsFort story, tells the entire history and story of Bents Fort and all the entire area around and with that fort area...
