  • MELBETA's PHOTOS of finds and etc., etc.............

I recently posted a story, about Ground Balancing wet salt water beaches, and did not find my technical material regarding Meteors and Meteorites!!!!! BUT, found it!!!!!!!!!!
And stuck it below........ Not all finds were found with a metal detector! I used to go to REPOSSESSION of houses by the VA and FHA governmental agencies! I would take my
master key, enter before they were released for sale, and even showed them "on the sly" you see. I was the MASTER at selling those governental repos!!!!!!!!

Now since I started a file, on my fantastic finds from the past, I got an entire folder of photos of past finds.......Yippie ki yea!!!!!!!! Since I used to go to mining towns, I saved
in one drawer, all of my old LETTER PRESS "lead type", and it is below on the left side.......It is dated from 1904 and other dates! I used to find old knives, most were
rusted, and I learned to dissolve away the rust, and suddenly there was LOTS of old restored pocket knives........ and since I dug up ALL solid signals, I found rare
coins, which I called SLEEPERS, with beautiful engraved designs......

Neat photos are they not???????? Found an rare 1776 coin, and stuck it below...... Since I told you, I learned to remove RUST from my finds, here are 2
photos of rusted knives, from ghost town areas in the Cripple Creek Mining District, up in the mountains and beyond.........and the 2nd photo, is after
the rust was removed from the vintage pocket knives... And since I dug up mainly FAINT signals, here is photo of 4 small 1/2 dollar sized gold coins!!!

Click image for larger version Name:	Kamp King 001.jpg Views:	0 Size:	77.0 KB ID:	435431 Click image for larger version Name:	Cleaned UP 01.jpg Views:	0 Size:	36.7 KB ID:	435432 Click image for larger version Name:	1854 Half Dollar_001a.jpg Views:	0 Size:	37.8 KB ID:	435433
I found lots of OLD pieces of very very old paper money, from America, and from other countries......I would find these in closets of the REPO HOUSES!!! So
you see, I found old coins like crazy, and became a rare coin and rare paper money collector. That is why the banker for the American Numismatic Assn
came to me to pick up some of my rare finds, and take them to Denver, where his Nephew, who wrote coin hard bound books, would photograph them and stick
his photos of my finds into his hard bound books on coins and paper money! Now he died, and that writer lost contact with myself.......

GREAT DEPRESSION 1929_vs5.0_S_NP_001.Pdf ashtray of course!!!!!!!!!!!

now that is all for right now to post, will come back to this particular POST later on, days later, and stick in more finds that I photographed for my own enjoyment and to show my friends and customers...

First Coin???????? There is an old cliche story, "HE has the FIRST DOLLAR he ever made!!!!!!!!!!!!" Well, I do not have the first dollar, but I have the FIRST
GERMAN 2 penny coin I ever found. I was working out in the farm fields, crawling on my knees, and there it was, right in front of me. Want to see it?
Click image for larger version Name:	Front_01a.jpg Views:	0 Size:	134.2 KB ID:	435476 Click image for larger version Name:	Rear_01a.jpg Views:	0 Size:	60.2 KB ID:	435477
So there, it is above, a 2 penny German penny. Found it in 1950, crawling on my knees THINNING the plants. Did not want two plants in the same hole you see. So removed one plant,
put it in another hole! Some farm worker before 1950, crawled and lost it in our field.......
Click image for larger version Name:	Columbian_01a.jpg Views:	0 Size:	573.8 KB ID:	435478 I metal detected, one day found three Columbian Exposition 50 cent piece. Got two different dates. All three are RARE COINS today. Ever see any in your coin change? NO??? Now the 4th coin? In 1952, America made some Commemorative 50 cent coins. Ever see any??? No? Well I saw them. Never saved any! But I found this 1952 coin in our farm land! Rare? Yes, they are rare coins today, were not rare back in 1952, but are rare today! I found ALL of mine with a metal detector you see!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One day, I found a WOODEN MATCH holder. Remember the old wooden matches????? Today we do not see any. But I was metal detecting in Cripple Creek Mining District one day and found this wooden match holder. It was the old town site of Annaconda, nothing there but weeds here and there, and a crushed wooden match holder!!! Rare? You bet, even crushed, it is RARE as hell!!!!!!!!!! They have a museum there, I pulled it out, showed it to the museum people. Then were not aware Annaconda had anything like I showed them. They wanted it, I kept it! Do they have any now Hell no!!!!!! Do I??? Hell yes!!!!!!!!!! Miller BEER made it, gave them away to people in the Taverns, Beer Halls, and I bet the whores in the cribs had them too...Did you know Millers Beer was FIRST called Fred Miller BEER??? I did not know it either!!!

When one digs up all SOLID targets, one gets both good and bad targets. But then one gathers the BOTH good trash and discards the bad trash, and one takes the good trash,
which is GOOD RELICS in composition, into one's own method of collection. I got photos I put into collection, as they are all smaller in size, and I called the file GOODIES!!!
I stick it in this forum, and one will look and look and look at what I SAVED into GOODIES. I took each photo, enhanced each one, and stuck it into a .PDF file, cannot open it
in this forum, but have another computer which has the .PDF software in it, and I can open it up and see what I found years ago.......... You will end up LOVING my Goodies
PDF file below, and it is secured and you can only look at it....

I found so many lead soldier TOYS, that I set them up for reproduction. I could sell soldier after soldier, but since they are all in my SOLDIER Collection, I will
only post one soldier photo... In this collection, I got rubber mold containers, so that I can duplicate in wax, lead soldiers, for future reproduction. Origionals
were sold years ago at flea markets...

I found more small items years ago, and created a .PDF file, called it NOSTALGIA, and I stick it in here below. I liked finding SMALL CUTE ITEMS, then took photos,
sold them in Flea Markets... But got the photos yet! Here below, are those photos of Nostalgia items....

Went back to the Cripple Creek MINING DISTRICT, in November 1975, made out like a bandit with my metal detector. Set up a .PDF file, on the many targets I found, and
here it is below, for your enjoyment. It is secured against printing it out, but you can look at each target. I loved finding small targets myself.....

Found LOTS and LOTS of old U.S. Buffalo NICKLES, over the years, got them in ALBUM, and individual ones in plastic sheets, all are saved in this .PDF
file called BUFFALO NICKLES... Again, belongs to me, secured against printing it out, but one can look at each coin...... I've said it before, and I will say

In the old days, we used to find Liberty Head nickles. Today I do not find any of them. I guess they went down deeper into the ground. That has to be the reason!
I tried to post my file on the nickles, the forum would not let me do it. So I said the hell with it! It does not hurt me. It hurts the forum not myself!
