I have a very good book, that I probably can identify the mineral, but I will need a very good close up of the mineral, and some more information regarding the area it was found in. Right now I am thinking Chalcedony as it is associated with banded Agates. I understand it is 7 hardness? Or above 7 hardness? And what kind of drill did you use on it? You can email me. Melbeta

I understand that the mineral you want identified, is harder then 7 hardness, but without a good photo, cannot help you. And I do not know what peiochi is, it is not in my guide book on rocks and minerals.
