  • BOOK - How to build Metal/Treasure Locators by Robert&John Traster

Bought this book very cheap on ebay, it is a first edition from 1977. All projects on this book are BFO types, from a one transistor detector combined with a radio to a more sophisticated transmitter - receiver detector with 2 separated coils a few feet apart. The book also describes operation of the Heathkit GD-348 Deluxe Metal Locator....

Hmmmm, the authors are called Traister, not Traster. Sorry about the typo.

I have a copy of this book in very nice condition, but without the paper jacket. I'd forgotten about the description of the Heathkit GD-348, but I also one of those detectors. Maybe it was good in its day, but now it's totally hopeless in comparison with even the worst cheap Chinese import.

True... If you go through this book it comes as a surprise how simple projects were in 1977 compared to nowadays.
