Fantastic collection of metal detectors!!!!
AH-Electronics, C&G, Fisher (many), Gardiner (2x), White's (many), Garrett, ....
I didn't notice any Compass ...
Best regards,
André
PS: I am actually owning only about 23 metal detectors, among them 5 White's Beachcomber 4 with 2 D coils, 1 White's Minimaster, 2 White's Treasurmaster (=BC2); 1 White's Coingetter II TR; C-Scope IB 300 (3 different) models, C-Scope TR-200 and TR-400; 1 C-Scope TR650-D; Compass Yukon 77 IB and 94 B; Bounty Hunter Marauder TR; Celtic TRX 34; Tesoro Amigo II and Eldorado umax; Heathkit GD-348 deluxe; ....
I see a dual antenna unit like a military unit. What frequency does that operate on? I have just completed a 160 meter loop antenna, and it looks a lot like those. I understand by looking at it they are 180 degrees out of phase, and one is for TX and the other is for RX. How good does it work? I am thinking of building one with two loops like that, but having the antennas closer together. they will still be 90 to 180 degrees out of phase. I have an idea for a new type of antenna and processor of returned signal. I have a DSP circuit and a PIC that removes certain phase shifts from different metals (Iron and ground effect) and am going to move to a single Motorola DSP processor that I have used in the past, but in two way radios.
Judge 2, 4th from the left standing. I also have a Relic Mag 6 parts detector, and recently got a nice 76IB (hip-mount version of the 77IB), and some other Compass that's in pretty rough shape. Looking for a nice 77IB.
Sorry,
there are so many detectors in your collection that I didn't notice the Compass Judge. I also own a Yukon 77IB , you know that older version with a fix angle between the stem and the coil and the single tune knob (a variable condenser opposed to the later coarse and fine control (pots) of the 77 PRO). I also know that the Yukon 76 is the hipmount version of the 77.
Just a question which might be difficult to answer. What MD is you preferred one for iron infested sites (ghost towns)? ...
Regards,
André
Hi Robert,
The detector with the blue housing seems to be a White's Coinmaster "Alaskan" und the stem with the two perpendicular black coils could be a Garrett addition to convert a normal Garrett detector (GTI 2500 ?) into a hoard hunter.
Am I right, Carl?
André
Yup, right on both. The black unit is the Bloodhound (?) attachment for my GTI2500, makes it into a two-box locator.
The only iron-infested site I've hunted recently is an old church where the ground was littered with roofing nails. I only had a Tesoro Cortez that day, which did OK, but would like to go back and test the alleged ability of the Compass to "see through" nails.

I just bought a Compass Yukon 77B that has the separate Fine and Course Tuning knobs. I paid $15.00 for it. Was that a good price?
I was shocked at how many AA batteries it took and actually had to duct tape some of the battery holders that were busted. That's the other think, The are 3 bundles of batteries, each holding 4 AA batteries. The top of each bundle has a 9v style battery connector. Do you guys happen to know where I could find those battery holders? Radio Shack maybe?
