I HAVE AT LEAST ONE OR MORE OF HIS BOOKS THAT WERE PUBLISHED PRE-RAM. I need to dig these up and see what exactly that he said. I believed that the Ram books were revised and edited! I remember that Karl said the Little Monster was either made by him or that he got a Company to make them, not sure if it was Whites's or not! Also he said that in many of his articles that he changed the names of the people plus the locations to protect the people who were still alive at that time! Not sure if all of this was B*S* but it sure made good reading! And remember the era of the Little Monster Was the Pre-discriminator, Non-VLF days so those who claimed that he oversold on the Little Monster-4 Transister circuit do not understand the times!! JOE
To clear up some things, the claims about the Little Monster on p. 120 of the 1979 THM 7 are typical of von Mueller. As I wrote, "He promoted the Little Monster as the be all and end all of metal detectors, despite the fact that it was a cheap four transistor BFO." He promoted it so much that Garrett allowed what he wrote to be included in the revised edition of THM 7, published by RAM, because so many would be metal detector buyers would buy Garrett detectors (because the detectors supposedly had something to do with the tremendously hyped Little Monster).
The information in the link in post 15, Carl's post there (immediately following my posts) and the true story of the Little Monster should give everyone a good idea of the truth about Karl von Mueller and his followers.
By the way, the idea that even an early Garrett detector was an update of The Little Monster is like claiming that a current Garrett detector is an update of Garrett's first detector.
And remember the era of the Little Monster Was the Pre-discriminator, Non-VLF days so those who claimed that he oversold on the Little Monster-4 Transister circuit do not understand the times!! JOE
There were still much better detectors back then (and not just expensive ones).
