A Gardiner Treasuretron C sold on eBay today for... $609.19! Yikes! Two people wanted this VERY BADLY. Shoot, I thought I got a lousy deal when I paid $200 for mine... I feel better now.
Hi Carl, Wow that's terrible! That's why I don't get much off of Ebay because it gets out of hand real quick! So that is ridiculus and just shows some people got more money than sense. Been awhile since I talked with you, are things going well for you? Ok BCNU later my friend and God Bless ya.
I guess I've been pretty lucky so far. Got a 20MHZ dual trace BK scope for about $50, shipping and all. Then some 1X10:1 probes for a couple of bucks. An HP 10Meg counter and a Tenma LCR meter for about $20 apiece (before shipping.) So I reckon I've got a little over $100 invested in my test equip.
I've learned that if you show any interest in an item too soon the price is going balloon. I just wait until there's a minute or less to go and quick like a bunny zap in a bid. So far that's worked pretty good.
Hi Largesarge, actually I too have gotten some decent deals too and your right about waiting. But I have to admit that if you want an unusual item it can always be found on Ebay. I would like to find a SMT rework station at an affordable price and that is all I really need at this point. Thanks for the input and take care my friend.
HI the Gardner 180C series sold for just about $1000 in the 1950/60's, but was 'the' detector. Try to figure the price in today's discounted dollars, sheesh.
