  • I use my Vintage Detector

Hi! I know that a lot of people collect vintage detectors but does anyone prefer using one over any of the newer models? I know that I do. I've gone to sites with my my Superpro or Dayona detector and have found silver with both units recently. Most detectorists will say that they have never seen one of "those" before! I guess it is a matter of preferring manual over automatic. Also these detectors are a pleasure to use with no motion modes one can go as slow or as fast as one wants. Don't need to switch modes to pinpoint just retune the detector real close to the object!! Also I can tell if a target is deep or shallow by the intensity of the object no need to look at a depth meter. I'm not just a "COLLECTOR" but I'm also a USER!!! Thanks Joe

......DIGGER1.....IS THIS THE 6000D SERIES 2 OR THE 6000DI SERIES 2??............The Di model has the Target Classification Meter....since it needs parts and cannot be tested in the present condition......I would hesitate to tell you to buy it....if the owner would reduce the price to $30.00 or $40.00.....It may be worth the money just to buy the battery holders.....if the detectors works it is a good deal.....if not......offer $10.00 or $20.00 tops!!......I buy a lot of non-working detectors...mainly for parts.....I also have a local repair shop.....I grew up using most of these types of detectors so I have a very good knowledge of what I want......... GOOD LUCK.......Joe

I agree with all you boys. All old things are better: old wine, old girls, old rheuma, old gold, and of course old detectors too.

Ok there are exceptions that prove the rule.

I agree too, except for one thing.

A small fortune gives man hope, a lot of fortune may lead to loss of hope.

                            King Cobra

I use my Gold Mountain King Cobra frequently and find that it out performs some new machines. The biggest problem is finding replacement parts for it, so I have to be extra careful. Hit a rock not long ago and broke a tab on the coil, was able to repair and it's still ticking.
