I do not have any military or foreign models. Haven't run across a military unit that catches my eye. Or one that is affordable. Alot of times the military units have a high starting bid on ebay.

As for the foreign I might be interested but would have to do a little research on them first.

The oldest Fisher is a T-10, about 1955. It is in the second to last photo and the third one in. First being the C-18 radiation unit. Second being the Explorer. Actually the C-18 could be older as I have no idea of its date. It definitley has an early logo.

Have bid on a couple underwater units but never won them. They always seem to go higher then I am interested in paying. I think you could call them a "crossover" collectible. If anyone doesn't know what I mean by that it is something that appeals to more then one collecting group. They would fall into both the metal detector and the dive subjects.

      TO MARK S. MORE QUESTIONS?

Picture #9 the only detector in the group with a large red open (12 inch ?) searchcoil. I know that it is a Whites Gold Master, circulated 1965 or so, is this a BFO? Also why does it have 2 meters, if one is for intensity, what is the 2nd one for? Thanks JOE

            EARLY GARRETT's

Mark, I noticed that all you have is about 6 Garrett's. I thought that you had more? I guess that I'm partial to the early Hunters cause that is what I started with! Actually I started with a Sidewinder but I always considered it a Hunter junior! HH Joe

Thanks for posting your metal detector collection photos Mark! I was able to identify my Dad's old Bounty Hunter II. What we were missing was the II -- it had worn off. Dad died many years ago and we finally decided to have a look at this favorite toy of his. It seems to be in good working order. We don't know how to use it, but will get it figured out. Like so many other things, it's too bad we didn't learn more when he was alive! When Dad wasn't at a coin store or catalogueing coins, he was out looking for them with his detector. The most unique thing about his detector is that he ingraved his name and address on the handle! He was good at that. He also liked to engrave things on coins and other metal objects and rebury them! So, everyone watch out for his personal artifacts in the states of Indiana, Wisconsin, Michigan, Colorado and Arizona! Genie
