  • NEED A VINTAGE INSTRUCTION MANUAL??? FREE

I can write simpified or detailed operating instructions on almost any VLF/TR's, NON-VLF'S, AND VERY EARLY MOTION DETECTORS. In some cases, I may need an email including a close-up picture of all the control knobs and switches. These types are what I use and collect! I have over 36 years of experience using these detectors. I can also troubleshoot any operational problems and give advice on any minor repairs! I'm NOT an Electronic Repairman BUT THIS FORUM HAS MANY WHO ARE!!!! HAVE ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE ASK............................JOE

I need you to register so I can send you a private message. I'm not familiar with the Bounty Hunter DX. Send me a private message and include close-up pictures of all switches and knobs and if it has any push-button or toggle switches on the end of the handle? Thanks Joe

Newbie needs help...lol what a suprise huh

First let me say hi to everyone. Now on two the problems First: I just got a white's (gold master) Mineral & Metal detector(on line) Model no. GMS64 yr. 1968 and there's the kicker no manual of course and I don't even know if it works yet. It was cheap what can I say. And since I don't know how much I'm going to like this (detecting) cheap is the way I go. But I do luv the outdoors so it has a good chance of being my new hobby. lol But of course the technology is out of date and has me wondering if it will be of any use at all really. Anyone got any ideas on this please free to reply. Thanks have a great day

You are correct that it is an obsolete unit. Even if it does work it will not find much in todays time of heavily hunted areas. That unit may even have a tube or two in it.

You can get a manual for it. Go to the Whites website and you can download a manual for just about any detector that they produced. That includes those that they made under other brand names.

                JoeTX,
I just picked up this A.H. Pro backpacker. I'm not sure if the "rejection" knob was intended to set tuning along with holding down the red button? Tuning seems to drift alot. Not much sensativity. I'll probably sent it out to K. Wills ,but thought I would try to get some feedback from you guys first. What can I expect from this detector as far as depth and discrimination?

                      A&H BACKPACKER 2

These units are not deepseekers but excel in seeing thru and around all the trash! Max is probably 5 or 6 inches on a dime! The A&h Line is a very addicting type of detector to use! They squeal and squak and make a lot of interesting sounds. One can almost judge what your target maybe. They are very well-balanced and the battery drain is very nominally!...........HH.............Joe

                        A.H. Backpacker - 2

JoeTX, Thanks for the info. Understood what you mean about depth and true unprocessed audio responses. There is much more to detecting than just depth. I wonder if any of the other guys out there might have a manual for this model? I just emailed A.H. Pro regarding repair. I will probably go ahead and get it fixed.

                            C&G WILDCAT USER's MANUAL

MIGUEL, I do not have the original manual for this detector. But if you can post pictures of the control box including all knobs and switches, I can write you an Instruction Manual good enough to get you started and going! The sensitivity of this unit should be at least equal to the Garrett Groundhog. You should be able to detect a dime at 6 to 7 inches in neutral type ground, maybe more with the larger coil! Good luck Joe

                              C&G Wildcat detector

                              Hi Joe,
thanks for answering.I just bought this detector through Ebay USA to a seller in Oregon.
Well,I don't know how to post photos here but if you are so kind to look into Ebay auction
Nr. 110131253125 you will see the photos too.
According to what the seller said to me,he tested it and it could detect a gold ring/band in 6 inches depth. I only hope I won't be deceptioned with its performance. Is it possible to get a bigger disc?
                              Thank you again.
                              Kind Regards,
                              Miguel
