  • WHITES GOLDMASTER FORTY-NINER

I bid but lost this in the last 40 seconds or so. LIKE I said before to some people money is no object. This was either the ancestor of the Alaskan or was a private label. Besides the name, it looked exactly like an Alaskan. I bid what I thought it was worth. Sometimes I have seconds to decide if I really want it real bad or I have to let it go. If it was a real rare detector I would have been more determined and aggressive but older whites show up a lot!! Too bad I think that it would have been real versatile and would accept all of the older Whites coils. Contrary to what the seller says most rare detectors are not rare. If one has patience, it will show up again or a similiar model in a few weeks or so! JOE

Did not see that one. I probably would have dropped out on that one too. I will check some of my old magazines and see if I can find that one. I'll let you know if I run across it.

Looked in old magazines and found the 49er listed under Whites in a 1973 NTHL magazine. The Alaskan was also listed. The Alaskan was listed in a 1971 issue while the 49er was not.

That's all I know on that one.
