Garretts reply on the "old ones"

I have recieved some info from Vaughn Garrett on the the older Garretts from a previous post.

The unmarked model is a Sidewinder. It is #77. Don't know what year that falls into but it is one of the first few. The Scanner model is also an early version. He said that the models came out in this order. The Hunter and Sidewinder. Followed by the Scanner. The Scanner is #44. The serial numbers are actually done in some kind of letter code on the units.

I ask if he could narrow down the year by using production figures if they are available. He is also going to email me a copy of the 1969 buyers guide.

They did not keep track very well of the production figures. They built so many and when they were sold they built more. Not paying attention to the year of manufacture. So they were made in the late 60's and that about narrows it down as much as can be.
