The myte-myte3 schematic posted earlier in this thread is the closest to my unit. However, I don't see the battery test, or the 10T pot, and it has a trimpot, variable cap, and the black wire is connected on both ends of the cable. The article says it detects a quarter at 10 inches or so. Anyone know the purpose of using this wierd type wire in the cable - each "wire" is like a cotton thread with spiral copper wire around it. I would think it is fairly difficult to manufacture and much more prone to opens than stranded wire.
The myte-myte3 schematic was scanned with too low of resolution to make out the coil diagram. Anyone have a better scan of it. Also would be cool to read the full text of the review. That also has pictures of the guts but yellowed (black and yellow instead of white :-) )

....The article saying that it will get a quarter at 10 inches ....I think is a big stretch....5 or 6 inches is more like it in Neutral Soil...maybe this was from a bench test...and everything was maxed out...you can Not hunt that way...My unit is in storage so this is all from memory....If you have a 10 turn tuner then one of the previous owner's most likely did some Modifications...it did Not come out of the factory that way....also there was two models one was green and one was red......one of them was the deluxe model which had a battery check.....

        I give up.

I guess I'm giving up on this one and putting it up for sale on ebay. I don't have a clear direction to go and no real point to go there. Better to leave it as it is for a collector.

...Recently doing an early Spring Cleaning I found my Deluxe which is the green model and it still works!.....Reminds me of the days of my youth and watching the old timers hunting for coins in the baseball park with their simple TR metal detectors ...no discrimination....most were found at very shallow depths....Joe
