  • A&H PRO QUESTION

I just recently acquired a Pro. I also have a SuperPro and a Pro-2. But the Pro is a litlle different!
It has 2 discrimination modes, Normal and Total. Now the problem is that I cannot figure the difference between the 2 modes! I can make it do every thing in the Normal Mode that I can also do in the Total mode. Maybe in the Total mode the discrimination can be lowered more than in the Normal mode? At this stage I'm not sure! Any help from anyone who has experience with this detector will be appreciated! Thanks Joe

The "total" disc mode should be calibrated to reject a ring only pulltab and the normal disc mode adjusted so that a nickel is fully detected.
There are several reasons that cause the need for recalibrating these two internal coils.
The factory procedures for doing these adjustments are complicated, and I think proper manual would be needed to accomplish this.
Some early Pro models had problems with polystyrene capacitors, switches & controls.
Maybe this will give you an idea or two.

      PRO MODEL QUESTION ANSWERED

I found out that in the NORMAL MODE basicly the detector is working in a Non-discrimination mode but still discriminates small iron and tin, etc! While the TOTAL MODE, has full discriminaton! Joe
