    "The Collection"2008

Its an "Awesome Collection" and I know for a fact that if Carl picked the right search-coil and put it on one of his best metal detectors he would find that 90% silver cache he buried 2 feet down for the testing he did several months ago!!! We did not forget about that test you were doing, but I do not remember "what the results were"??? I would not be able to sleep until I heard a beep over a target like that , even if I buried the coins or someone else did!!!...........Eugene

Hi carl, you still have any of your collection for sale? Starting a detector museum here in the Ozarks and wanting to collect every detector made.

There are a few I might want to sell, but they're all back in NC and I'm in Oregon now. It will be a while before I get everything moved out and organized.

I owned an Eagle, two Eagle II SL's and an Eagle Spectrum. One of the Eagle II SL's had a gain knob or something like that on the front of the box, and the one I liked the best didn't have that knob.

The Eagle II SL I have now has that knob, and it has developed a problem, it won't let me select the mode I want to operate in. Anyone here know how to fix these machines when they hiccup?

                Kind regards,
                Wes

Carl, have any Minelab Sterling Tribune coils?

I'm looking for the 6" round DD
as well as the 6x9 Concentric.
                  Thanks

                    Very impressive collection carl!

I studied the various models you have there and saw quite a few units I either had or drooled over years ago! It looks like a Jetco Treasure Hawk in the middling foreground, an early 80s Fisher (443?), some Compasses, Garretts. Lots of memories brought back with that phot. Thanks for sharing, Carol!

                      Repairing the Eagle II SL

I have one of these, with a " '91 " sticker on the arm cuff. I'm assuming that means a "90.5" model. I don't know all the subtleties behind the various models.

It does have the "Signal Balance" knob on the front, which can be compared to the preamp gain control on the XLT. It is most useful for the prospecting and relic modes, as I understand it, offering an increase in depth. It also will make the Eagle erratic in trashy areas, so should be used with caution when detecting over "dirty ground."

Here is the nams of a place that can repair the Eagle II SL:

                      Centreville Electronics
                      10063 Wellington Rd.
                      Manassas, VA. 20110
                      703-367-7999

If you, or anyone else, is interested in buying mine - let me know.

                        Thank You

I used the first collection as wallpaper to show wife whenever she complained about My 5 detectors.
