  • Another non working baracuda.... beep beep beep beep

I am using 3x18650 batts = 11.5-11.8v at full charge, 11"/22w/26g enameled wire coil When I fired it up first time no sound and 7660 getting hot fast.
I discovered the 5534 was reversed on socket so fixed that. Now I get a beep when switched to ON after 10-15 seconds it just go's beep beep beep beep not very loud and no signal from coil at all. I have a 2n2222a transister I believe is on correctly but with all the talk of reversed pins Im not sure now. Adjusting the pots makes no difference. I've been reading through all posts but can't seem to make sense of pin outs and voltages for fault finding the (mosfet?) is a irf9640. If anyone can assist with idea's on what I mixed up that would be great.

An update to the operation. After rereading several threads here I began using multi meter on pin 6 of 5534, adjust voltage to 0v by upper pot, coil was 3 ohm's so I removed 1 wind dropped it to 2ohm take off 1 more wind still 2ohm's now 20 turn .40mm 11"coil. it now detects a sm screw driver and 2" ball alum.foil at about 6"+ but i can barely hear the buzzer I dont have a scope so I'm not sure how to go about the coil issue other than trial & error? The threshold is working as I can back it off and sensitivity goes down. My batteries are down to about 11.2v whats the lowest voltage the baracuda will operate reliably on? the copil is only held together by 5 bands of tape will it help if its bound up completly
