Hi all new to this forum and all thumbs when it comes to circuits, pots and switches. Bought a used cuda with two coils and it was working great until it was underwater about 12" inches below surface. I noticed I was losing my threshold hum and took a look and noticed about a spoon full of ocean inside control housing. Upon further inspection the hex seal had failed and is chewed up and cracked. I had immediately taken it out of the water, opened it and removed the battery pack. I repaired the seal as best I could with some atv silicone gasket, reinstalled the pot and batteries but it would not turn on, so I figure the pot is dead. Wondering what pot to use to replace the broken one. The way it is configured is a little confusing to me. I've read that rv6 are as close to water proof as I will find but is it also an on/off switch and will it allow the charge circuit to open when turned off via the headphone jack and what tolerance/variances should I be looking for. Any and all help would be appreciated. Regards and happy hunting

Ouch! The first thing you should do is wash the whole assembly with fresh water, then shake or use a blow dryer to remove the excess water. Next wash the whole boards, pots batteries in distilled water and repeat the excess water removal process.
Last put everything EXCEPT THE BATTERIES into an over at 120 degrees F for 24 hours or so. Make sure the oven gets no hotter than 125F. I have found if I preheats my oven to 135 or so then let it cook slightly I can shut it off, leaving only the oven lght on and it wil stay the correct temp indefinitely.

This process will leave you with a clean and dry board.
If you can post clear pictures of the insides it may help us determine what was damaged. Please do this befor turning it back on as additional damage can be done.
