My first time posting, I just got, and built the kit from Silverdog. it came with 20k pots instead of 25k pots for offset and delay, I hope that is ok? the kit works fine, but only 8 inch sensitivity using 5 inch coil (tested with nickel coin) and bad sensitivity with 9 inch coil. (both coils wound 22 turns copper wire) 5 inch coil uses magnet wire, and 9 inch coil uses Teflon jacketed silver plated copper wire. any ideas would be helpful.

How did you get such a large increase in depth. Adjustment ?? Coil ??

I just kept adjusting the offset first and then the delay using small increments at a time. I did it by ear rather than by scope while sweeping the coin back and forth.
I did get the larger 9 inch coil to work now too. (I discovered that I was not successful at first because there was too much metal around the shop that interfered with testing)
