      • Will do for sure. Surf already waits for coil and project box. However before I start assembling the barracuda's passive components I want to ask are there any critical components which should be chosen with the nearly identical parameters, same way like the resistors and capacitors in the integrator circuit of surf? Any trannys with the same gain etc? Thanks.

I am rather sure the components supplied in the kits from Silverdog are thought out and well selected by everyone one that worked on the upgrade. you should be more then fine with what is supplied, along with the board if you go for the kit form.

          • Yeah, that's the problem. I've got bare boards only. I do check of each component before i fit it and will do it anyway, however if such selection should be done i have to buy extra components to have where to choose from. Thats the main reason i'm asking.
            Thanks

            • Built yet another apberg baracuda as per post #49. Using bench power supply 12V. The +5.02 on 78l05 and -4.95V on 7905. Got -4.96V on pin7 of 40106 but still no detection or sound. Any suggestion for further testing or diagnosis?

              • one russian bought from me delta board pcb recently. and wrote no sound. R44 was hot. i answer him how to check the sound part.
he did not see. he also checked NE555 set another one with same result. then i did suggest to check EVERY PIN of the socket of NE555 on EVERY PAD and EVERY PINS TOGETHER ON THE CONNECTION.
voo a-la. he answered he fixed the problem - one pin of the socket was closed with neighbor one on top side and that was INVISIBLE - !!!
now he testing DP in field with big ramka coil.

                • Kt only 9640 is little hot but all other components are cold. I have checked many times and there are no short circuits.
