  • You are most likely right in the fact that copyrites "are worthless" , It just depends on what court you are in when the verdict comes out of the Judges mouth.
I have seen minor infrigements on copyrite material cost large companies 100's of thousands of dollars due to the arogrance of the company infringing on the small guy.
Just saying any piece of ground taken is a piece of ground not avaliable to the opposition.

In lue of what has occured in the past month or so with others, I find that any protection on your own behalf may save you in the end.(I'm talking to Moodz here)

It appears as though Moodz is going to go out and pursue selling his ideas, I for one hopes he makes a fortune on it and the detector gives the other companies out there a whopping scare. I can understand many on this thread wanting him to tell everthing about his project in every detail , it makes it alot easer for patent jumping- kind of rhyms with claime jumping that was prevelent in the old west.

      • Copyrights on code & layouts are often automatic (in the US, at least), and pretty worthless. Patents are worth as much as your bank account, which is better than nothing.

See the life of the Great Nicolas Tesla ...it is the same in this day

        • There are some immensely better examples on patents ruining lives of the inventors. Tesla as being Croat by birth and Serb by ancestry is a bit closer to me, but how about Edwin Howard Armstrong? You'd expect an inventor who gave us heterodyne principle and FM radio to be a very fortunate person? Wrong! RCA's litigation over FM patent, motivated solely by greed, drove financially ruined Armstrong to suicide.

Patent is the only instrument that can ever separate you as an inventor from your invention, your invention proceedings, your money, money ever earned by your invention, your time and sanity.

          Ever heard of a quote:
"If a man can write a better book, preach a better sermon, or make a better mousetrap, than his neighbor, though he build his house in the woods, the world will make a beaten path to his door"

The best part - it is lie. It is usually attributed to Ralph Waldo Emerson in 1889 - 7 years after his death!

There is no such thing as a beaten path for inventors in patenting business. It serves fat purses only. Not inventors.

BTW, there are more than 4,400 patents issued by the United States Patent and Trademark Office for new mousetraps to date - some people just did not get it.

          • This reminds me of Stigler's Law of Eponymy, which basically states that "No scientific discovery is named after its original discoverer".

In fact, Stigler's Law is an example of its own law.

You have been a busy bee, I take my hat off too you
If you include England as part of your travels I can organise and sort you out some good pasture land for your demonstrations and arrange with potential buyers/retailers to attend the events.
If your seriously interested drop me a email and I can organise something for you.
I have some good ideas up my sleeve which will be of mutual benefit to both of us.
                  Regards
                  Dave

One less obvious, but clearly stated issue: this will work for balanced coils but not for monocoil system (unless you have op-amp with few hundred volts compliance or something)

... negative capacitance circuits are old hat prior art ...and are mentioned in threads and there are even patents on it ... not sure what your obscure reference to a big mouth is about.
