Doug,
Minelab use high Q coils but most of the science taught here on Geotech relies on low Q coils so would a high Q coil make a significant difference to any of these??
Do we see a significant improvement if we fit a high Q Minelab coil to a GS4 GS5 or TDI?
You said you couldn't tell the difference when the QED was fitted with a low Q coil but it seems you are now obsessed with high Q coils?
We can increase Q by just simply increasing diameter but it seems you aren't interested in this?
And this... we can improve Q by using wire with many more strands????
And this... we can improve Q with more turns of the same wire????
And at the end of the day a significantly higher Q coil requires circuit changes to work properly in a mL PI and a PI detector doesn't automatically sample earlier if we lower the capacitance so no real advantage in either case.
You are just nit picking about stuff you don't understand Doug.
