The Actual Depth of Detection for ANY Metal Detector is Determined by the Type of Metal, Size of the Object, How Well you made the Coil, The Size of the coil and Soil Conditions.

So it is Really hard to say.

And an Air Test is only a Rough Indication of Sensitivity.

Shielding Can Help, If you have Poor Soil Conditions. I have NEVER Had this Problem.
