  • Baracuda Resistors

    Hello,
i wanna build a Baracuda Legend. The BOM says 0,5% and 0,1% Resistors.

I found another BOM which said 0,1% or 1%.

Can i use the 1% Resistors from taydaelectronics too?

Yes and as a matter of fact that's what I did and WHO I purchased them from ! LOL

I wish Tayda carried a few more parts.

I think you will find most of the part number in this order ?

      Mine is kt315s small PCB.
Did you use the 10000uf electrolytic instead of the 6800uf?

i set all i have under a hand. set 4700 or what you have on 12 or 16V.

a problem is invisible. modern chinese resitors have 0.4mm diameter pins,
not 0.5mm that earlier 'old' type. hardness of them is not so good for vertical position resistors' setting.

That order encompassed more then just the Bara Parts. Yes I used the 1000uF. Only because I could and had it.

              i did grid 0.635mm. so leads space is sure 6 x 0.635mm.

The Parts from Tayda are 5mm. Do you mean that the pin can break when i bend it?
I can maybe make a bigger radius.

you have to buy 0.25 or 0.125 watt resistors. for damping resistor 0.25W.

use the best tolerance resistors you can get I mainly use 1% metal film .25w in most projects and always test them before soldering, I buy bulk mixed values, 20 of each value, you can buy hundreds of 1% metal film R's these days for peanuts, if you MATCH and use the closest tolerance in the critical timing circuits you will get a better result, what KT315 is saying is the wire leads on a lot of resistors from china these days are very thin metal, and can bend easy if mounted vertically so you need to be care full during construction, for example the leads on my last order of 1,000 R's were .35 MM which is very thin but they work ok once they are soldered.

only small note. also, my board allows to set SMD resistors. you can solder them on TOP or on BOTTOM side
on your choice. so you get SMD board too if you want.

I know the legs on the Tayda resistors are a bit thinner but it never became a issue on anything I've ever used them on. The Mylar Caps I purchase from Tayda always tend to be close to the edge of the rated tolerances but never out. Up to this time all values have been on the Low Side of tolerances.

They have WIMA capacitors too, should i prefer them?

I don't think your going to notice much differences. http://www.taydaelectronics.com/capa...apacitors.html
