GPR a different application....

Could GPR (operating at the optimum frequency for this application) be used to detect foreign objects in wood products? I don't need to see an image only that there is a foreign object such a rock in the wood. So find a frequency that would see through wood and detect something of different density in a pile of woodwaste, in a log, or a board.
