Goals:
-designing and prototyping a working GPR
-all result should be free and available to all
-cost effectiveness
-interchangeable antennas for different frequencies
My initial block scheme:

Some topic for start:
TX:
-how do we couple the antenna to the transmitter with minimal loss?
-which antenna arrangement needs no balun transformer?
-afaik dsrd is the way to go. is there another possible way?
-dsrd diode type?
-pulse shaping?
-do we need bandpass filters?
RX:
-do we need bandpass filters?
-gain compensation is in analog, or in digital?
Sampling:
-delay line type? DS1023 or so?
-buffer amplifier between t&h and adc? details?
Data output:
-is there a common file format for GPR data?
-any free visualisation tool?
-is opengpr sw project usable?
Steps:
-determine resoultion, worst case timings
-establish a detailed block scheme, antenna type and configuration
-TX module
-RX module
-sampling
-data processing
