  • Starting HH rev C1 option 1 just for fun

Just for fun I have added another project to a long line of projects,
the 2004 HH rev C1 with option 1.

I have had the pcb for a while, and looking through the junk box there are almost enough parts
to complete it, and there are some features that I want to experiment with.
I have made one mod and made C1 1,000uF.

There are some issues with some of the pads on the pcb, where they are very thin.
Lets see what happens, at least its always good to see some pulses from the 555,
but there is an odd bit of ringing on first pulse.

    The beast lives.
With NO adjustments this is TP4, pin6 of 5534
watching on the CRO, its very responsive to targets been waved over the coil.

The setup is very basic and only to test it, small 9v battery, coil is 310uH, as per HH article.
there is a bit of noise and a bit of ringing, but the TX and preamp works, for some components, I used pcb pins
so I can play with the values, and pins makes it easy to change them.
