  • VCO / NonVCO

Hi guys I'm working on making the Hammerhead schematic so I can do some tweaks and there is a bit
of confusion over Q10 and the whole VCO/NonVCO thing. I'm doing VCO only and so in the pictures #1
is the original circuit, #2 is the VCO option as you can see we just remove the base resistor and Q10.

Well I might want to use that 4066 switch for something so can I do something like #3? Or is there a
better way to bias Q10? Maybe use it for volume control?

You can simply short Q5-e to ground, i.e. short R80 and remove R51. The purpose is to make Q6-e a virtual ground with 1st-order temperature stability.

Thanks for the help! I wasn't quite sure..

Now I could use those two cmos switches for ground balance or something!
