    Hi mickstv,

The probes i have do have a 1x 10x switch on the side, so is 10x ok for looking at flyback pulses if the scope is limited to 50v? Sorry if this seems a bit simple, i just want to get my facts straight before i go diving in and free the magic smoke
    Thanks for your advice!
    Cheers mate

Hi Tom, I use mine on 10x all the time for monitoring PI flyback pulses and haven't had any problems. If your using long TX pulses that generate bigger flyback pulses up toward 1000v depending on the TX mosfet then yes a 100x CRO lead would come in handy.

      The 10x is a voltage divider so 500v / 10 = 50v

Ah, cool of course, that makes sense, awesome!

Thanks for clearing that up Mick, at least i should be able to delay rushing out and buying a 100x (although it sounds like it may be worth having at some stage), i recall reading that the flyback on the HH is somewhere around 130v or so, i may well be wrong there but if thats the case then i should be all good to go.

Thats great, thanks for that mate, hopefully i can get stuck into it today!
