  • PI-1 Coil, and board project

    HI Carl:
The fellows in the lab have had a lot of fun with the board and yes we have it working with the lastest options, we used about 30 turns of wire on a 6 inch diameter coil. The output pulse voltage is about 220 volts pk to pk. The guys now what to know the specs on the coil so we can finish it off and use it out at the ghost towns before it gets to hot. Thanks again for the nice project, it has help relieve the stress of our comm. station. Cheers Jim

I'm using an 8-inch/30-turn coil that comes out to 500uH. Also have 6" & 10" that are 500uH as well, don't have the # of turns here at work, but 40 & 24 sound right. With 6"/30-turns I'd guess you have around 280uH.

Glad you've had fun with it. Hopefully, one day, I'll finish the construction article!

p.s. -- recently uploaded 0.7, for those who haven't looked lately. Also Option 2.
