  • Hammerhead PCBs are in...

..and they look real nice. $10 shipped in the US/Canada/Mexico, likely $12 shipped elsewhere. Paypal, check, money order, cash, or chickens. Payment can be made/mailed to:

    Geotech
    PO Box 184
    Oak Ridge, NC 27310

With prior PCB orders, I included a copy of the full article, plus schematics & parts placements. The new article for this rev is not done (heck, it's not started), so I will not include the article print.

        Re: Hammerhead PCBs are in...

        Differences, yes...

I've removed some option jumpers that gave the first design a lot of flexibility. The preamp is only set up for inverting gain, and the clock into the monostables cannot be inverted. This also removed the analog inversion option between the final amp and the audio.

The reason I did this, was because it was too damn confusing, and did not add a whole lotta learning value. I replaced some of the freed-up area with extra pads, so that you can experiment with adding whatever extra parts you want. Mostly around the preamp.

Also, I added a way to sync the 7660 off the main clock. And made some minor mods to the audio. And replaced all the preamp offsetting options, with a single universal offset. And cleaned up the layout a bit.

The new boards are the same physical size as the old (3.5" x 4.0") but they do have a solder mask applied, which makes soldering errors & shorts less likely, and makes 'em prettier!

As it is set up, I doubt it will do well on nuggets. Reg Sniff has a lot of experience on nugget hunting with PI's, so he might know how to tweak one up for decent results.
